DESCRIPTION

Ever since the 1960s, repetitive musical patterns and phrases have played an increasingly important role in the creation of music, to the extent that a lot of music today, such as hip hop, techno and electro, couldn’t exist without the use of loops to maintain their flow.

Progress in technology and digital audio has also had a major influence in ensuring that repetition has become a fundamental part of music today. From the ostinatos of classical music to the rhythms and patterns of African music, repetition has always been an essential element that guarantees cohesion throughout the process of composing and creating music.
