DESCRIPTION

Nowadays, the idea of listening to oneself has become an essential part of our framework of perception. This form of listening involves the sense of hearing, in addition to our perception of our body and the space around it. It does not just encompass developing awareness of our body, but also awareness of our emotions and our relationship with others.

As part of a child’s education, whether they are destined to be musicians, dancers or actors, listening to your body and understanding its vibrant and resonant nature is very important. This first approach addressing the questions of movement and our interactions with digital technologies also seems vital in a world in which technology is constantly evolving.

This educative workshop is part of the introductory course organised by Gentilly Conservatory. It aims to develop awareness of movement and the body, to promote a deep and mindful form of analytical listening (i.e. not just listening to the world around us, but also to our body and our interactions with others). The learning process will be based on play, experimentation and interaction and include activities using the voice, working on body awareness and gestures.
